From Up Here

Date:  October, 2013    Venue:  Fresno City College, Main Stage

Collaborators: Janine Christl-Stein (director), Debra Erven (costumes), Jeff Barrett (sound)

My Role: Scenery and Lighting Designer

Description:

Liz Flahive’s play, From Up Here, deals with the ramifications of school violence.  It is a touching low key drama that has many locations as diverse as the side of a mountain, a family kitchen, a school dance, a camp ground, lots of locations at a high school including the counselor’s office and the stage.

“Christopher R. Boltz’s scenic and lighting design admirably deals with a large number of settings. I’m not sure this play works as well on the larger City College theater stage as it would have in the smaller black-box space, considering the intimacy of the material, but the production design works.” — Donald Monro, Fresno Bee
